Denys Puech (French, 1854-1942) White Marble Portrait Bust of the Duc de Loubat, the figure carved wearing a formal jacket emblazoned with medals from various honorary societies, inscribed "D. Puech Paris 1911," and mounted to a socle inscribed "Duc de Loubat 1831-1927," total ht. 30 in. N.B. Pope Leo XIII ennobled the American-born philanthropist Joseph Florimond Loubat in 1893. Both Loubat and Puech were members of the French Legion d'honneur.
