Cornel Swen (Dutch/Australian b. 1930- ). "Kookaburra Vigil"-1980. Hand executed batik dye-painting on Japanese rice paper. Work depicting a stylized representation of Australian animal life including birds and reptiles in bright earthy colors on a white background with a grey-black organic crackled background. With red mark below bird figures at lower left. Accompanied with certificate of authenticity on back of work that outlines how the work is created with special dyes in cold water and that wax wash. Document issued by the Pastoral Gallery in Queanbeyan, Australia. Framed 27.3 inches square. Unframed approximately 24.2 inches square.
