Mahogany Parcel-gilt Sewing Box, possibly Massachusetts, c. 1825-35, the rectangular chamfered top opens to a dovetail-constructed, lift-out, compartmented tray with pincushion above a well, on a rectangular box and four gilt-metal ball feet with cast leafage, original surface with black and gilt striping, the top decorated with scrolled and foliate spandrels, ht. 4, dp. 7, wd. 9 in.
