Pen and Ink Schoolgirl Drawing of Washington's Residence and Tomb, Phebe C. Watson, 1859, inscribed at the bottom on the scene with the girl's name and date, and further inscribed along the bottom edge "Residence and Tomb of Washington, Mount Vernon, on the Potomac," (toned), 12 1/2 x 9 1/2 in., in a period giltwood frame. Note: An early 20th century inscription on the reverse seems to indicate that this drawing was exchanged soon after its execution to a Sarah Atwater, for a "Canary Bird."
