Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) Birth of the Centaur , plate 1 from DOS CONTES , 1947, edition of 250 (Bloch, 468; Cramer, 44). Unsigned, dated within the plate, identified on a label from Associated American Artists, New York, affixed to the backing. Engraving on Lana wove paper with a ram's head watermark, plate size 12 x 10 1/8 in. (30.4 x 25.5 cm), framed. Condition: Deckled edges to three sides, mat burn, toning, corrugation staining to verso.
