Tajik Prayer Suzani and a Suzani Border Fragment, Uzbekistan, 19th century, the prayer suzani with an empty red mihrab with a light blue contiguous wavy vine and blossom inner border flanked by blue-green, gold, and ivory floral sprays with an individual stylized rosette and leaf main border, 4 ft. 4 in. x 3 ft. 1 in. and the border fragment comprised an allover design of light red and magenta roundels and royal blue blossoms encircled by blue-green meandering serrated vines, 4 ft. 11 in. x 2 ft. 7 in. Provenance: From the Gillian Richardson Collection; proceeds to benefit the New England Rug Society.
