Shirvan "Baku" Rug, East Caucasus, late 19th century, the rust-colored field comprised of a midnight blue hexagonal center medallion inset with a cruciform in octagon flanked by pale yellow octagons at each corner and stylized polychrome rosettes, all within an ivory and brown "kufic" main border, multiple carnation and vine minor borders, 5 ft. x 4 ft.
