Kashmir Ramal Shawl, North India, c. 1870, the eight-lobed black center medallion enclosed by an allover polychrome design of large confronting curled and bent-tip "boteh" and with a black meandering vine forming a larger eight-lobed medallion all within an interlacing vine and blossom border, polychrome lappets inset with half moon-shaped devices and cypress trees, 6 ft. 2 in. x 5 ft. 9 in.
