Kerman Prayer Rug, Southeast Persia, late 19th century, the vivid magenta field with a cypress tree atop a mound enclosed by a cow and calf, and two trees with flowering branches holding birds of various types, including a phoenix and rooster, all enclosing a stylized vase with flowers, ivory top spandrels, all within an ivory floral palmette and blossoming small tree main border, multiple reciprocal trefoil, and floral meander minor borders, 6 ft. 7 in. x 4 ft. 5 in.
