Karachov Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, mid-19th century, the large ivory octagon in a square with latch-hooks and blue and red checkerboard corners, flanked by gold hooked totemic forms in squares, and ivory latch-hooked rectangles with eight-pointed stars, with subsequent diamonds scattered throughout, all on an emerald field, all within a wide salmon-colored serrated leaf with stem and four "C"-type motifs with figures at the top and bottom, multiple reciprocal sawtooth-patterned minor borders, 7 ft. 4 in. x 5 ft. 10 in.
