John Whorf (American, 1903-1959) Carved Door Handle in the Form of a Female Nude . Unsigned. Wood with areas of plaster and polychrome, 11 x 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 in., mounted and framed. Condition: Some areas of wear, minor cracking. Provenance: From the artist through to the collection of Robert B. Campbell, owner of Shore Galleries in Boston and Provincetown, Massachusetts, and friend and neighbor of John Whorf, by descent to the current owner. N.B. This handle was on the screen door of John Whorf's house on Commercial Street in Provincetown.
