Terry Balance Wheel Steeple Clock, Terryville, Connecticut, c. 1845, oversized "sharp Gothic" shelf clock with full-length door, the upper glazed section over the painted wooden Roman numeral dial with openings for seconds and the 3-in. vertical balance wheel, the lower with transfer-decorated and painted tablet with royal blue background, printed maker's label inside backboard stating in part, Balance Clocks Invented by Eli Terry/Manufactured by Silas B.
