Schaublin-Villeneuve 70mm Clock and Watchmaker's Lathe, Bevilard, Switzerland, mid-20th century, the steel bed with cast maker's mark and CH Schaublin-Villeneuve/Bevilard (Suisse) , steel plate inscribed Brevet 81805 , head stock with three speed flat belting with minor index or locking plate and removable 6-in. index plate, tail stock, tool rest, V rest, bed to center, 70 mm, lg. of lathe 23 1/2 in.; Schaublin motor No. 5659 with three step pulley on exit end, overhead drive rods and pulleys for cross slide attachments, and manufacturers spec plate, Roto-Phase Generator or phase converter, electrical box and forward-reverse switch, Schaublin accessories include, milling attachment powered by overhead drive, approximately fifty-five collets, tailstock centering tools, grinding attachment, and 3-in. Pratt Burnerd International three-jaw chuck with inside/outside jaws and Schaublin mounting. Note: This lathe reportedly was in use in the Bulova Watch Company Research and Development department in the mid-20th century. It has seen very little hard use, no abuse, and for the last 30 years has been used for simple turning and the occasional manufacture of a wheel or pinion using the overhead milling attachment.
