Illustrated Novel of Xixiangji, The Romance of the Western Chamber , China, in the manner of Qiu Ying (1494-1551) and Wen Peng (1498-1573), holding twenty illustrations and narratives minus covers, each leaf depicted in the Northern School style using gongbi brush technique, with a narrative calligraphy on the opposing page, dated and signed "Wen Peng" on the last calligraphy, "Chou Ying" on last painting with his "Shizhou" seal, with other seals in some pages including a collector's seals reading "Molinzi," "Xiangmolin Jianshang zhang," and "Zijing Zhencang," ink and color on silk, wood covers, each leaf 12 x 9 3/4 in.
