Six Architectural Panels, China, 19th/20th century, carved of softwood, at center a deeply carved depiction of figures in a garden perhaps drawn from classical stories or operas, in each corner a stylized flower, all bordered with a geometric meander, the chamfered panel sent in a modern frame, scattered remnants of black lacquer on front, on back some remaining lacquer and occasional "ghosts" of painted designs, each framed, ht. 26 3/4, wd. 25 1/2, dp. 1 1/2 in.
