Terracotta Buddha in a Portable Bronze Case, Tibet, 19th century, the Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne with a bowl in his both hands, carved in relief against a halo and mandorla, painted and gilt (now mostly lost), the rectangular brass case, with top in the shape of a pointed arch, with three ring clasps each to cover and case, engraved with Tibetan characters on the cover, ht. 2, case ht. 3 7/8, wd. 2 3/4 in.
