Transfer-decorated Liverpool Creamware Jug, England, early 19th century, with black transfer decoration with polychrome highlights, one side depicting a British vessel, the reverse depicting a sailor's lady in a small rowboat bidding adieu and waving to a retreating ship, with a verse "Come Box the Compass" and a depiction of a compass and a sailor under the spout, (discoloration, losses to gilt highlights, hairline under the handle), ht. 10 1/2 in.
