Interesting Continental Blue Enamel and Yellow Gold Snuffbox, 19th century, of rectangular form, the cover with a flag draped central armorial with floral spandrels and banding to the edges, the sides and bottom with entwined strapwork, unmarked, lg. 3 1/2, wd. 2 1/4 in. Note: Sold with an affadavit from 1938 stating that this box was a gift from Napoleon Bonaparte to John Adams and thence descended to John Quincy Adams Johnson, grandfather of the individual in the affadavit.
