Half-plate Daguerreotype of the Entrance to Touro Synagogue Cemetery, Newport, Rhode Island, probably Newport, Rhode Island, c. 1850s, illustrating the entrance to the cemetery, (light oxidation on the mat and light toning on periphery of image), 5 1/2 x 4 3/8 in. Note: Prominent businessman and philanthropist Judah Touro was interred in this cemetery following his death in January 1854.
