Harold von Schmidt (American, 1893-1982) An Illustration from "Tugboat Annie" Signed and dated "Harold/von/Schmidt/19... " l.r., inscribed "PAGE #17/'Stay outta this, you hear?' he yelped in sharp alarm. 'This is my job!'" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 30 x 30 in. (76.5 x 76.5 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. N.B. Harold von Schmidt illustrated many stories for the Saturday Evening Post including "Tugboat Annie" written by Norman Reilly Raine.
