Robert Spear Dunning (American, 1829-1905) Still Life with Apples, Grapes, and Plum Unsigned, with a label from G. [George] B. Pierce, Fall River, Massachusetts, affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 8 x 10 in. (20.3 x 25.4 cm), framed. Condition: Varnish inconsistencies, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Acquired from Mehitable D. Dunning, the artist's wife, from the estate of the artist by Charles B. Cook, January 5, 1917; by family descent to the present owner. N.B. The original collateral security note from Metacomet National Bank of Fall River and a Fireman's Fund Insurance Company policy accompany the lot.
