Group of two framed and matted engraved portraits comprising of a depiction of renowned explorer Amerigo Vespucci (Italian 1454-1512) from Montanus: De Nieuwe En Onbekende Weereld, published in 1671; and the other portrait engraving of Archimedes depicted seated at a desk at half length tracing figures with a pair of compasses and wearing a turban on head and embroidered gown engraved by Rene Gaillard (French, 1719-1790) after Jean Baptiste Le Prince (French 1734-1781). Vespucci framed 18" x 15", sight size 11.25" x 6.75". Archimedes framed 19.25" x 15.25", sight size 13.75" x 10".
