Jane Peterson (American, 1876-1965) Rainy Day, Venice Signed "Jane Peterson" l. r., numbered and titled "23..." in ink on the reverse, identified on a label (see below) affixed to the frame backing. Gouache on gray paper, 18 x 24 in. (45.7 x 60.9 cm), framed. Condition: Minor tears to edges, tack holes to corners, subtle rippling, fine craquelure. N.B. The label on the reverse identifies the gouache as "...1919 Glimpse of the Grand Canal ," and states that the work was awarded an Honorable Mention at a National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors exhibition.
