Attributed to Simone Cantarini (Italian, 1612-1648) God the Father Unsigned, inscribed "Simone Cantarini/il Pesarese/... /Simone da Pesaro" in pencil in different hands on the reverse, identified in inscriptions on the front and on the reverse of the mat. Sanguine on laid paper, 5 x 4 5/8 in. (12.6 x 11.7 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Toning, staining, sheet glued along perimeter of the reverse to a French mat window. Provenance: Purchased from Colnaghi, London, September 1965.
