Paul Sandby (British, 1725-1809) Chepstow Castle in Monmouthshire . Signed "P. Sandby Fecit." in the plate l.r., titled l.c., inscribed "Publish'd according to Act of Parliament by P. Sandby St. Georges Row Sepr.1st 1775" l.l., identified on a label from Figaro Gallery, Annandale, Virginia, affixed to the frame backing. Etching with aquatint on paper, sight size 9 1/4 x 12 in., framed. Condition: Evidence of repair to lines forming the border at u.r. corner, toning, fox marks, not examined out of frame.
