Rare and Important Plains Apache Woman's Dress and Moccasins, c. 1850, a short deerskin poncho and skirt stained with yellow-orange and red-brown ochre, decorated with four metal discs, including a silver hair plate, brass hawkbells, tin cones, and with medium blue, white, and black seed and pony bead detail, the yoke with a bead and trade cloth wrapped turkey beard at the midpoint, and a small animal painted with red ochre at the inside bottom back, the slipper-type moccasins with red ochre stain and beaded detail, yoke lg. 34 1/2, wd. 34; skirt lg. 41, wd. 22; moccasin lg. 10 in.
