Manner of Louis Valentin Elias Robert (French 1821-1874), patinated bronze rectangular tray with figural Neoclassical scene with muses surrounding with wingless putti or cherub, and figures holding a goat and rooster beside figure playing horn in central medallion framed by laurel leaf and berry border. Handled tazza tray raised on four lion's paw feet with scrolled and feathered decoration on brackets. Signed in lower right of figural scene "E. Robert", stamped on underside of one handle with "B.D." above obscured numbers. Approximate height 2.75", width 18.5", depth 8.25". Note: Robert studied under the significant Neo-Classical sculptor Pradier. He produced numerous large scale monuments around Paris as well as a number portrait busts.
