Famille Rose Charger, China, 19th century, low upturned bell-shape with slightly flaring rim, decorated with two roosters in a gated garden with peony and cockscomb flowers, a pink band of trellis pattern with stylized chilong scrolls in five oval cartouches, brown-glazed rim edge, ht. 2 1/8, dia. 14 1/8 in. Provenance: The descendants of Dudley L. Pickman (1779-1846), and Charles G. Loring (1828-1902) of Massachusetts.
