Hanging Scroll Rubbing of the Nestorian Monument, China, before 1906, titled Daqin Jingjiao Liujing Zhongguo Bei (Memorial of the Propagation in China of the Luminous Religion from Daqin) with texts about the Nestorian beliefs in the Tang period, some texts in Syriac scripts, ink on paper, rubbing ht. 90 3/4, wd. 33 3/4 in. Note: The stele was carved in 781 and buried in 845, and not unearthed until between 1623 and 1625. Since 1907, it has been housed in the Beilin Museum at Xian.
