James Abbott McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) Model Draping , c. 1889, only state, possibly from the Goulding edition of 40 printed in 1904 (Way, 31; Levy, 49; Chicago, 31). Monogrammed within the matrix. Transfer lithograph on laid paper, image size 7 7/8 x 4 5/8 in. (19.7 x 11.5 cm), framed. Condition: Margins over 1 1/4 inches, unobtrusive toning and mat burn, pale foxing, glue/residue to margins, pencil annotations to lower margin (beneath glue) and verso. Provenance: Descendants of the Lanier family of Indiana and New York.
