Unsigned. Photogravures on paper, plate sizes to 9 1/2 x 6 5/8 in. (24.2 x 16.8 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Minor rippling to sheets, several with a deckled edge. N.B. The gravures were hand-pulled by Richard Benson and Thomas Palmer and include letterpress captions providing biographical information, dates, and an excerpt from a related work by the subject. 'O, Write My Name': American Portraits, Harlem Heroes , which is based on the 1983 limited edition portfolio, was recently published by Eakins Press.
