Lady's Short Jacket, China, 19th/20th century, red silk, the front embroidered with bunches of peaches and bats with ruyi -heads, over an interlocking wan pattern in couched gold thread, the back with two roundels of interlocking peaches and bats bordered by the "Eight Buddhist Treasures," the sleeves with bands embroidered in "forbidden stitch" to depict floral arrangements, all trimmed with a peony and plum blossom motif on black silk, lg. 25 3/4 in.
