Pair of Parcel-gilt Bronze Phoenixes, Japan, Muroe Kichibe (1841-1903), each depicted standing on a four-legged turtle with a long tail, elaborately carved with gilt and chased details, a fifteen-character mark engraved on the base reading "Dai Nihon Etchu-ju [present Toyoma-ken] Eihodo Muroe Kichibe jo," ht. to 34 1/2 in.
