Armstead M. Swope (1844-1889) was appointed Internal Revenue Collector of the Seventeenth District of Kentucky in 1877 and held the position until his resignation dated February 25, 1884 and made effective March 31 of that year. Swope was stabbed to death by a political rival, William Casseus Goodloe, on November 8, 1889, shooting his assailant in the process, who later died of his wounds. 1 bottle
