Attributed to Edmund C. Coates (New York/England, 1816-1871) Autumn View on the Hudson and West Point Unsigned. Oil on canvas, an expansive hillside view with solitary figure on a precipice overlooking the river landscape and the buildings of West Point below, 25 x 30 in., in a giltwood and gesso rococo frame. Condition: Relined, scattered retouch concentrated in sky, evidence of small repaired tears. Provenance: Bruce Gimelson; Alexander Galleries.
