Civil War-era Four-button Fatigue Blouse, c. 1861-65, dark blue wool flannel body, pieced near the shoulders, four general service buttons, brown flannel lining with a pocket on the left inside front, sleeve linings made from cotton sheeting and marked with a red 4 on the sleeve cap, and with the owner's name Capt. G.D. Brientnall in pencil, no maker's mark. Included is an object analysis by Leslie D. Jensen. Provenance: The collection of Denis E. Reen. Note: Captain G.D. Brientnall appears in pension records as a member of the 6th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment.
