Chinese, late 19th/early 20th century, possibly earlier. Carved hardstone figural relief on verso of carved rosewood mirror. An ornately carved rosewood frame with floral, bats (symbolizing prosperity) and prunus motif surrounding a circular carved hardstone figural relief scene with three figures, two older bearded men with canes and a child, in a landscape with a feathered bird (possibly a phoenix) flying overhead, trees, rocks and stylized waves. Verso with circular looking glass. Unmarked. Height 23.25", width (at bottom of base) 14.25". Diameter of mirror and carved scene 10.75".
