Needlework Sampler, Lydia Ann Haines, probably Chester, Pennsylvania, 1826, worked in silk threads on a linen ground, composed of seven rows of letters and numbers, above a floral wreath surrounding a verse and the maker's name and age, the lower edge with an urns and a cornucopia issuing flowers amongst figures, birds and more flowers, all within a flowering vine border, (small repair, fading, toning), 17 x 16 1/2 in. , in a mahogany veneer frame. Note: A Lydia Ann Haines was born to Isaac and Lydia (Smith) Haines on July 8, 1813, in Chester, Pennsylvania.
