Grand Tour Bronze Figure of Mercury, late 19th/early 20th century, after Giambologna, with draped figure holding a caduceus atop a base with frieze of cherubs and figures, ht. 22 1/2 in. N.B. Giambologna's sculpture, c. 1580, is housed in the Museo del Nazione Bargello in Florence, and depicts Mercury without drapery, as does his fountain depiction of Mercury at the Villa Medici in Rome.
