Sheet Copper and Cast Lead Standing Horse Weathervane, probably Sanbornton, New Hampshire, area, second half 19th century, the sheet copper form with riveted sheet copper strap reinforcements, the front of the body with applied cast lead sections for weighting, applied sheet copper ears, all on a four-point wrought iron lightning rod with sheet copper tips, and affixed at the feet to a copper bar, original weathered verdigris surface, (imperfections), ht. to top of lightning rod 41 3/4, horse lg. 36 1/2 in. Provenance: Reportedly came off of a house in Sanbornton, New Hampshire, decades ago.
