Pennsylvania Mahogany Bracket Clock, attributed to John Crowley, Philadelphia, c. 1812, single pad break arch-top case with brass carrying handle, brass door accents and trim around the glazed dial opening, all on brass ogee feet, painted iron Roman numeral dial with strike/silent in the arch, eight-day, fusee, time and strike movement with bell marked in part G. Ainsworth , all regulated by a pendulum, ht. with handle extended 19 in. Note: Attribution based on a letter with the clock from late Pennsylvania clock expert, Edward LaFond, dated June 1, 1992, stating in part, "It is my belief that your clock was made by JOHN CROWLEY in Philadelphia..."
