Attributed to Jean Eddy Moise (Haitian, 20th Century) Unloading Cargo from Sailing Vessels, Haiti. Signed "Eddy Moise" l.r., with a partial label "...RAINBOW/ HAITIAN ART.../... Port au Prince..." affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 36 1/4 x 48 in., framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. N.B. The Rainbow Gallery was founded in 1972 in Haiti to showcase both traditional and contemporary work by Haitian artists. Tragically, Mrs. Carmel DeLatour, the founder and owner of the Rainbow Gallery, and her husband Cavor died in the 2010 earthquake, and the gallery was destroyed.
