Art Deco Natural Pearl Necklace, composed of eighty-eight pearls graduating in size from appro. 2.84 to 5.89mm, completed by a platinum clasp bead-set with single-cut diamond melee, lg. 14 1/2 in. Note: Accompanied by GIA report no. 2171330474, dated October 13, 2015, stating that the pearls are natural with Orient overtone, saltwater, Pinctada species, with no indications of treatment. Provenance: From the collection of a prominent British American family. According to family oral history, most of the stones and pearls were purchased in the 1880s or 1890s by the family patriarch, a successful banker who maintained residences in the United States, Great Britain, and France.
