Man Ray (American, 1890-1976) Le Mirage , 1944. Stamped "MAN RAY PARIS" in black ink on the reverse of the mount u.c. Gelatin silver print, image/sheet size 7 7/8 x 4 7/8 in. (20.0 x 12.3 cm), matted, framed. Condition: Mounted, slight rippling at right edge. N.B. In 1944, Man Ray assembled photographs of a group of three-dimensional sculptures he made from found objects and prepared accompanying texts for a publication he called Objects of My Affection . He produced several maquettes for the book, including this one, although it was never published. The lot is accompanied by a 1987 certificate of authenticity signed by Lucien Treillard.
