Autographed letter signed ("Charles Dickens"), two pages, on a bifolium, 15 Furnival Inn, n. d. [c. 1837] Dickens, as editor of "Bentley's Miscellany," writes to Benson E. Hill in regard to three papers Hill had submitted for inclusion in the "Miscellany." Dickens states that he would have great pleasure in accepting Hill's paper and his sister Isabelle's paper "Fragment of Romance," but returns the third. Hill's "The Wide Awake Club" and Isabelle Hill's "Fragment" both appeared in "Bentley's Miscellany," no. 2, published on February 1st, 1837. Folded in thirds; fine.
