Inscribed to Henre de Vaufreland by Edouard Detaille with a watercolor drawing of a soldier on the half-title. With 60 etched plates printed in color and numerous in-text illustrations throughout. Light wear to boards; bookplate tipped to front pastedown both vols.; intermittent foxing.
