Typed letter signed ("Edward"), one page, on Waldorf-Astoria letterhead, New York, October 29, 1943. The Duke writes to Mr. Henry G. Walter in response to Mrs. Walter's request for the Duke and Duchess (Wallis Simpson's) autographs, which he indicates that he has enclosed (not included). He continues to thank Mr. Walter for his cooperation in negotiations with the Provincial Government of Alberta, where the Duke and Duchess sought to settle after going into exile from Great Britain after Edward abdicated the throne due to his controversial marriage to the American Simpson. Folded in thirds; light soiling to center minorly affecting text.
