in a silvered topped 18 karat yellow gold design, consisting of a central oval mixed cut sapphire thorax weighing approximately 3. 10 carats within a beaded bezel setting, the head and antennae containing two round cabochon cut rubies, diamonds and two round mixed cut sapphires, the tail pave set with diamonds, the wings divided into a framework set with diamonds and filled with polychrome plique-a-jour enamel in various hues of green, blue and pink accented with gilt veining, the brooch containing numerous round brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.05 carats total.
