Chinese, 19th century. Rose medallion decorated porcelain table vase with courtly figures in meandering spiral bordered niches surrounded by scrolls, flowers, fruit, butterflies, bats and kites. Gilt applied dragons on shoulders of vase just below neck with gilt applied foo dog handles. Unmarked. Label on bottom from Ford A. Kalil, Charleston, South Carolina. Height 17.4", diameter of opening at top 5.9". Provenance: Ford A. Kalil, Charleston, South Carolina whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards in 1998.
