consisting of a triangular carved onyx cameo depicting an Elizabethan woman in dress, within an open wirework surround and suspended open wire and scrollwork fringe accented with numerous pearls (origin not tested) measuring approximately 4. 10-4.62 mm in diameter and rose cut diamonds, detachable openwork bail accented with a pearl and eight rose cut diamonds. Accompanied by a fitted blue velvet case signed BAILEY & Co. Philadelphia. NOTE: Bailey & Co., better known for its later incarnation as Bailey, Banks & Biddle, began in Philadelphia in 1832 and incorporated Banks and Biddle into the firm's name in 1878. 19.20 dwts.
